Do all Health Insurance Plans cover Maternity?

Hi, this is Lou Mohammed with Insurance Medics here from Davie, Florida. Today’s question is, do all health insurance policies cover maternity? Well, that is a complicated question because not all health insurance policies are the same. If you’re on a grandfathered individual plan prior to the Affordable Care Act, there’s a chance that maternity is excluded, meaning that it’s not covered on your current plan. If you purchased a health insurance plan or will be purchasing health insurance plan that is ACA or Affordable Care Act compliant, those plans do include maternity and are generally subject to the deductibles, copays, and co-insurances that are included in the plan. If you’re on a group, employer plan, chance is that maternity is included on that, as well.
If you have any questions or you’re looking for maternity coverage, please give us a call. We’d love to help you with it. Have a good day.
